Carpentry project

The students make an award to present to an important person in their lives. This gives them the chance to explore a range of different materials, tools and design principles to create the award.

Metal work project

The students make a spinning top using a variety of metal working and preserving techniques.

Bauhaus box

The students make a wooden trinket box giving them the chance to explore a selection of different joint types and carpentry skills. The box is then topped with a Bauhaus themed lid of their own design.

Steady Hand Tester.

The students have the opportunity to create a Steady Hand Tester themed around a video game or cartoon. For this they have to build a simple circuit and a range of different design principles.

Pencil box

The students build a wooden pencil box incorporating a range of different materials and techniques. The box is themed around a charity of their choice and gives them the chance to research different charities.

Phone holder project

The students make a phone holder using Computer Aided Design, themed around the art deco design movement. This project gives them the chance to explore a range of designing and building techniques.

Food technology

The students will study a range of theory and practical lessons where they will explore –

Health and safety, healthy eating, special diets, knife skills, weights and measures.

Food labelling and presentation of food, Macro and Micronutrients, introduction to international food and nutritional needs according to ages.
