Students from Hans Price Academy (HPA) made a powerful impression at the South West rugby championships held at Clifton RFC, with both the boys’ and girls’ Year 9 and Year 10 teams emerging as champions.

The day proved to be a landmark moment for the academy, as 10 students from Years 7 to 10 were scouted by England Rugby coaches and invited to join the prestigious national talent pathway.

In addition, many more students were selected to attend the upcoming South West regional trials — a testament to the skill and dedication of HPA’s young athletes.

With their regional triumph, both squads have now secured their place in the national finals, which will take place on 27 June.

Steve Holland, Assistant Principal at Hans Price Academy, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students’ outstanding performance, both on and off the field.

“Their commitment, teamwork and resilience were on full display, and it’s a huge honour to have so many of our players recognised by national selectors.

“We look forward to supporting them as they prepare for the National Finals.”
