Year 7 Parents’ Evening

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to inform you that our Year 7 Parents Evening will take place in person on Thursday 14th July 2022 between 4pm and 7pm.

This is a perfect opportunity to meet your child’s subject teachers, discuss the academic progress being made and tackle any areas of concern.  Teachers will initially be making a small number of high-priority appointments, with remaining appointments available for parents/carers to book on a first-come, first-served basis. Where teachers have multiple classes, appointment booking may be limited. However, you will receive a “Progress Report”, which will give you an overview of your child’s progress in each subject, as well as their overall attendance, homework completion and conduct.

Whilst this Parents Evening will take place in the Academy, we are continuing to use School Cloud to book and manage appointment slots. Appointments can be made from 9am on Wednesday 6th July and will close on 14th July at 3:30pm. For most parents, you will be able to book a single, 5-minute appointment with each teacher. In some instances, parents will also be able to book an appointment with Mrs Street, the SENCO, or a College Leader if required.

During the evening there will be talks on the green steps with Ms Allchurch and Mr Esch to explain the data shown on the academic reports as well as the role of reading in your child’s progress. These will take place at 5pm and 6pm for approximately 15 minutes. Please do take this into consideration when booking your appointments.

Please visit https://hanspriceacademy.schoolcloud.co.uk/ to book your appointment.

There is a video parent guide to the School Cloud system, available here.

You will need to log in with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your contact email
  • Your child’s name
  • Your child’s date of birth

All of these details will need to match the details we have for you and your child in our SIMS system, so if your login fails in the first instance, please check your SIMS Parent App contact details section. Initial login difficulties are usually limited to those associated with legal names and preferred names (for example, Eleanor versus Ellie). If you do not have the SIMS parent app, please email [email protected] for instructions and an activation code.

If you have any queries about the arrangements for this evening, please do not hesitate to contact us at the academy.

Yours sincerely

Ms R Allchurch
