Year 6 – Beginning of Autumn Term Arrangements – Parent letter
Dear Parents/Carers,
As the term draws to a close, I am writing to introduce myself as the Interim Head of School, as well as share some useful information for September
You may be aware from a previous letter that Tony Searle has taken up a new position as Executive Principal within the Cabot Learning Federation. As a member of our school community for 16 years, I am delighted to be writing to you as Interim Head of School for the coming academic year. I am looking forward to working with you in order to maintain and improve upon Hans Price Academy’s high standards, whilst also upholding the values and ambitions of our academy. Tony Searle will continue to work closely with myself and the senior leadership team.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Annie Massey to Hans Price Academy and the Senior Leadership Team. Annie will be Interim Vice Principal for the coming year.
Arrangements for the first day
The first day back for students is Tuesday 5th September. We will have a staggered start to the school day as follows:
- Year 7, 10 and 11 to arrive by 8:35am
- Year 8 and 9 to arrive by 9:30am
Please ensure that your child comes prepared with their full equipment. This includes their school bag, PE kit, pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, sharpener and calculator. Your child will also require a reading book in their bag. They can bring this from home, or choose one from our school library when they arrive.

School Uniform
Our students wear their uniform with pride, and we thank you for your support in ensuring that your child comes to school in the correct uniform (our full uniform policy can be found on our website). As you prepare your child for September, I would like to remind you of the following:
- Skirts must be tailored and knee length
- Trousers must be tailored
- Students are required to wear school shoes (trainers are not acceptable)
- Students are required to wear black socks
- A plain V-neck jumper or cardigan with no logos
Lycra/stretchy skirts and leggings are not acceptable
Piercings and make up
The only piercings we allow are as follows:
- A pair of small sleepers or stud earrings (one in each ear) in the ear lobe only.
- A small, plain silver, gold or clear plastic nose stud. This must be removed for PE.
Make-up should be minimal and natural looking and we expect students to have natural hair colours as would be expected of someone working in a formal workplace environment.
To confirm, the following is not acceptable
- False eyelashes, acrylic nails or any nail extensions are not allowed.
- Further facial piercings, including but not limited to nose rings, septum rings, tongue piercings, are not allowed.
I am excited to be welcoming your child to our academy in September, Ready to Learn and ready to make a positive contribution to both our school and our wider community. I wish you all a safe and happy summer break and look forward to meeting you during the course of your child’s time at Hans Price Academy.
Yours Sincerely,
Adrian Esch
