Year 11 – National Apprenticeship Roadshow

Dear Parent/Carer,

On Wednesday 28th September, we will be taking the Year 11 cohort to Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol for the National Apprenticeship Roadshow. This will be an exciting opportunity for the year group to learn current labour market information about a variety of apprenticeship opportunities that they may choose to follow in the future.

The day for students will start with a slightly shorter P1&2 to allow for a short break prior to Learning Family time, at which point students will have a short assembly before travelling to Bristol via coach.

During the event, students will be given the opportunity to walk around the venue in small groups exploring the stations that best suit their own interests. Employers at the event are from a variety of sectors and industries both locally and nationally. At this point students will be in remote supervision having been briefing on a “lost point” moving around the venue in small groups.

During the event, Ready to Learn will be upheld as we continue to expect our students to represent the Academy to the highest standard. Full uniform will be expected as usual. Students will not be under direct supervision from HPA staff at all times during the event, but will receive a full safety and expectations briefing before departure.

Students will need to bring a packed lunch and if your child is entitled to free school meals, these will be provided on the day.

We will return to HPA site at approximately 2.30pm where boys will go directly into their PE lesson as timetabled, and girls will go to Direct Study.

Please complete the attached Medical Form  should there be any updates or important information you would like all accompanying staff to be aware of.
