Year 11 – End of Year Letter

Dear Parents/Carers,

As the last few days of Year 11 approach please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the final plans.

Last day and sign off sheets

For most of Year 11, Friday 16th June will be the last day of school. Students who do not take Geography or DT will leave school site after Learning Family Time, if a full sign off sheet is complete. Geography and DT students will complete their final lesson before their afternoon exam. If your child takes both Geography and DT, they will have a session until 3:50pm to prepare for their DT exam.

Copies of the sign off sheet can be obtained from reception. Tutors have the final approval.

Please see below the final housekeeping measures.

  • Return any books to their subject teacher
  • Return their locker key (A £3 charge will be payable if they have lost their key)
  • Return all borrowed library books (or replaced with a donation if lost)
  • Pay any outstanding balance on your child’s lunch account via Tucasi Scopay
  • Complete any remaining BTEC assignment work

Students with outstanding coursework will be supported in room F7 from P3 onwards on Friday and are expected in each day until their coursework is completed and signed off by the class teacher.

Final Lessons:

For students who continue to have exams after Friday 16th June the following are the timetabled “final lessons”. Students will sign in with their teacher and leave after the session. Full school uniform is required.

  • Monday 19th June P1&2: Food Prep final lesson (both classes). Toast it – 8am Tuesday 20th
  • Tuesday 20th June P3&4: Further Maths final lesson. Toast it – 12pm Wednesday 21st

Leavers Assembly: Friday 23rd June

Leavers assembly is taking place on Friday 23rd June at 3pm for all Year 11 students. Full school uniform is required for the assembly and students will have the opportunity to be able to get their shirts signed.

Uniform Donations

If you have school uniform in fairly good condition (e.g. a blazer, school tie or PE kit), the school would really appreciate any donations. Student will receive additional stamps to Nightclub reward cards in return.

Prom: Thursday 6th July

All students attending the Prom, we are very much looking forward to seeing you on Thursday 6th July at Cadbury House. Students can arrive at 6.30pm with dinner served at 8pm. Any students who have been collecting stamps at nightclub towards prom will be issued with their drink vouchers on the night. There will be an opportunity during the evening to order professional photos taken during the event.

Please do keep the lines of communication open with HPA. If you want any Post-16 advice we operate a drop-in service for our alumni students and families during the school day. We maintain we are always here to support your child’s’ academic and employment journey.

Thank you to all families for your continued support throughout your child’s time at HPA. From me personally as Raising Standards Leader, I am so proud of the journey we have been on together and thoroughly enjoyed supporting them for the past 2 years. On behalf of the staff, I would like to take this opportunity to wish your child the greatest success in their future education and careers.

Yours Sincerely,

Sian Angell
