Updated – Year 9 Attendance at Swim Gala – Friday 15th July

Dear Parent/Carer,

Updated – Year 9 Attendance at Swim Gala – Friday 15th July

Please see below updated information about this year’s annual Hans Price swimming gala, as well as some reminders about the event.

This year’s gala will take place on Friday 15th July from 1pm – 3pm at Hutton Moor pool. The gala takes place during the school day and will involve any students who would like to take part. Students have had the opportunity to sign up in PE lessons over the last few weeks.

All Year 9 students will leave lessons during period 4 to change into their HPA PE kit in the school changing rooms. Students will then walk with HPA staff to Hutton Moor in their colleges and will be seated in the spectator area at Hutton Moor.

Students will need to have a packed lunch for the day or get their food at break time. All students who are free school meals will need to get their food at break time. It is advised that students bring a large bottle of water to drink as it be hot in the venue. Students will not be able to leave their seats to access the vending machines.

Students will be dismissed from Hutton Moor around 3pm when the Swim Gala has finished and will be able to make their own way home.

As this event takes part during the normal school day, we do not require individual consent, however, if you do not wish your child to attend, please contact me on the email address below and alternative arrangements will be made.

Please let us know if any personal information, e.g., contact number has change for yourself or any medical information has changed for your child so we can update this before the event.

Lastly, if you are concerned about your child making their own way home from Hutton Moor and you are unable to collect them, please also get in touch via the email address below.

As usual, Ready to Learn is in effect and students are expected to represent the Academy to the highest standard.

Yours sincerely,

Mr L Purnell
