School Site Update
Dear Parents/Carers
Re: School closure
I am writing today with the promised update on Hans Price Academy’s reopening plans in the wake of the electrical fault experienced on Friday.
Please note that the Academy site will remain closed to all pupils tomorrow (Tuesday, March 21).
Engineers have been working on site throughout Monday and have successfully completed repairs to the damaged systems and restored power to the school.
However, full testing and safety precautions still need to be completed. With student safety of paramount importance, this work will be carried out tomorrow while the school site remains empty.
The current intention is for school to reopen to all students as normal from 8.20am on Wednesday, March 22. Further updates will be provided – via letter and social media – should these plans need to change.
In the meantime, remote learning will continue, with online work available tomorrow for all year groups. This will once again be shared via students’ school email and SIMs.
Students eligible for free school meals will again be able to collect them from the Academy between 12pm and 1pm. Our Cabot Learning Federation partner schools in Weston will continue to provide access to school for those who need it.
We anticipate that Hans Price Academy phonelines will be fully operational on Tuesday, meaning we can answer calls as usual for you to alert us to any issues.
Please do use our usual channels for communication through College and Inclusion teams.
I remain grateful for your support at this difficult time.
Yours faithfully
Tony Searle
