Scarlett Fever and Strep A – Information for Parents

Dear Parents/Carers,

Scarlet Fever and Strep A

As you may be aware the UK is experiencing higher than usual cases of illness caused by Group A Streptococcus (GAS), in particular, Scarlet Fever.

At Hans Price Academy, we are aware of two children who have been diagnosed with Strep A.  They are at home and receiving the appropriate treatment.

In order to protect the school community as much as possible, we will be re-introducing ‘clean as you go’ back to classes along with hand sanitising and the ‘Catch it, Bin it, Kill it’ system.  Supplies have been ordered and we will get these processes in place as soon as can.

We have been asked by the local authority to share with you further information and guidance from UK Health Security Agency Scarlet Fever and GAS – Letter to parents 7.12.22 – SWHPT and NSC

Further information is also available in the government blog and website which can be accessed by clicking on the link below.

Thank you for your support

Yours Sincerely
