Mental Health Awareness Week – 15th – 21st May 2023

Dear Parent / Carer,

Mental Health Awareness week is the 15th – 21st May 2023. This year we are raising awareness around anxiety. For more information about this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week visit www.mentalhealth.org.uk/mhaw

At Hans Price Academy we aim to promote the positive mental health and wellbeing of our students and staff. We recognise that our mental health and wellbeing is as important as our physical health, so we strive to create an environment which provides excellent support, understanding and intervention for our students to maintain a healthy mental health and wellbeing.

During lunch on Tuesday 16th, the SEMH and counselling Team will host a pop up near the green steps so students at Hans price can gain an awareness of where they are able to seek mental health support within the academy.

If you feel your child needs to access mental health intervention during school hours, please encourage your child to seek support from:

  • their Tutor or key worker
  • their College leader
  • a pastoral assistant
  • the SEMH Team

Every week we offer support through drop in sessions for all students:

  • SEMH drop in, in the Quiet Room, Tuesdays and Thursdays 3pm
  • Counselling drop in on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at 3pm
