End of Term Letter

Dear Parent/Carers,

As the term draws to a close please see below some key information to end this academic year.

Congratulations to Clarus College

Today saw the grand final of the College Cup competition here at Hans Price. Huge congratulations to Clarus College who were overall winners, and also to all the students that won individual awards for their progress and achievement, attendance, punctuality, conduct and extra-curricular participation.

Reports

Year 7 progress reports were issued at the recent parents’ evening. Progress reports for Years 8, 9 and 10 will be uploaded to the SIMS Engagement apps (SIMS parent and SIMS student) during the holidays and ahead of the start of term. If you need support with logging in, please email [email protected]

Contacting School During the Holiday

The school reception is now closed until we return in September. If you need to contact us over the holiday, please email us at [email protected] and we will respond on our return. Reception will be open on 24th and 25th August, as we host the Big Summer of Fun for some of our incoming Year 6 students. You will be able to contact us on Thursday 1st September and Friday 2nd September, as we are open for staff inset training days. Finally, you can follow us on Instagram and Facebook, where we will post updates and reminders for parents and students.

Results Day

Letters have already gone out to the parents of our Year 11 leavers with full details. The academy will be open from 10am on Thursday 25th August, for students to collect results.

Arrangements for the First Day Back

The first day back for students is Monday 5th September 2022. Years 7, 10 and 11 should arrive in time for the usual 8:35am start. Years 8 and 9 should arrive in time for a 9:30am start. Lessons will start at after break at 11:05am, so please ensure that your child is properly equipped and Ready To Learn.

Attendance Matters

Thank you to all our parents and carers for their support over the year in ensuring our students attend school well. I would like to emphasise again just how important it is that students attend school on the first day, and first week back in September. These are vitally important in helping pupils to settle into school and the school routine. Children who attend every day during the first week are better settled into the changes that happen at the start of a new academic year, and therefore more readily able to access learning than those who miss out. Thank you for your support in ensuring your child returns to school on the first day of term.

We have seen an increase in holidays taken during term time in recent months. I would like to remind all parents and carers that we do not authorise holidays taken during term time, except in circumstances that are exceptional and unavoidable. To assist parents and carers in booking holidays and events during school holiday time, a full list of term dates and inset days is on our school website.

Finally, I would like to extend my best wishes to all our families for a restful and relaxing summer break. We look forward to seeing all our young people again on 5th September.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs H Jones

Interim Principal
