End of Term Letter from the Principal
Dear Parents/Carers,
It has been brilliant to be back at HPA this term after a period of time supporting another Academy in Bristol. The staff and students at HPA never fail to impress me and the way in which they have returned to school after the summer is fantastic.
Within the Cabot Learning Federation, we have a long history of working and supporting other trusts and academies. It is timely for me to let you know that Mrs Jones has been seconded as Interim Head Teacher at Heathfields Community School in Taunton and she will be working with them for the whole of this academic year. In her absence, Mr Esch has been appointed as Interim Vice Principal at HPA. He has made a fantastic start this term and we wish them both well for their work this year.
The College system continues to be the bedrock of our Academy and the College Cup is warming up nicely. Most recently students have been designing Praise Postcards for us to send home to recognise your child’s achievements in lessons and around the Academy. I look forward to sending out the winning designs from next term! Please remember that if your child is experiencing difficulties of any sort, you or they should go to the tutor or College Leader in the first instance so that we can ensure they get the help and support they need.
We have had large numbers of visitors through the Academy during our Open Mornings over the past 4 weeks and we look forward to welcoming visitors from a range of networks and schools to our Academy next term too. These visits are always punctuated by comments as to how impressed they are by our culture for learning, your children’s behaviour and their focus in lessons.
We remain committed to ensuring that your child receives an excellent education at Hans Price. High Expectations form the basis of everything we do, and we ask that you ensure they arrive to school on time, every day, and in full school uniform. If you are having issues finding or purchasing items of uniform, please do contact your child’s College Leader and we can support you with this.
Attendance is the most significant aspect that will impact your child’s learning and it is essential that you keep any absence to a minimum. There is no point in your child being home alone feeling slightly unwell. We can support them in school, give them a space to work in, and should they begin to feel worse, we can contact home and make arrangements with you for them to be collected. Equally, if your child is unwell overnight but feeling better later in the morning, we expect them to attend for the afternoon session to keep any absence, and hence lost learning, to an absolute minimum. A reminder that we return to school on Monday 31 October, and students should be in school by 8:35.
Yours sincerely,
Mr T Searle
Principal
