Ready to Learn Expectations
Dear Parents / Carers,
We hope this letter finds you well. Having returned to somewhat more normality since our most recent lockdown I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your child for the hard work and support in these difficult times.
As we move towards our final term of the academic year we wanted to remind students about expectations in line with our ‘Ready to Learn’ culture.
Attendance
…Is the key to success. There is a clear link between poor attendance at school and lower academic achievement. The majority of students who have over 95% attendance achieve 5+ GCSE’s Grades 4-9 (A*-C). Also there is a link between the number of GCSEs achieved and average salary.
If your child will be absent please be sure to contact the school on: 01934 629307, Text 07581 991499 or Email: [email protected]
Punctuality
… affects learning and being just 5 minutes late each day adds up to 3 full school days of learning missed.
With this in mind – please see information regarding punctuality at HPA. Any student arriving late to school will miss 10 minutes of their first break. They will receive a late card on entry which details the room for their sanction. Failing to attend a punctuality detention will result in further sanction.
Uniform
…is a part of our culture. As a reminder please ensure your child has black school shoes, black socks, tailored black trousers or skirt (skirts must be knee length) white shirt, tie, plain black jumper (optional) and their blazer. Facial piercings, including tongue piercings and nose piercings are not permitted. A link to our website with more details about our uniform can be accessed here https://hanspriceacademy.clf.uk/our-academy/uniform/
Equipment
… forms our HPA 10. This is a list of the 10 key items of equipment your child will need with them each day.
School bag | Calculator |
Pencil Case | Eraser / Sharpener |
Pen x2 | IS Book & Knowledge Organiser |
Pencil | Personal Reading book |
Ruler | Full School Uniform |
If you have any queries regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact myself or your child’s College leader.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Samuel Drew
Assistant Principal
